Delmon Young is just 20 years old.. and will have a starting spot in the devil rays outfield come the start of the 2007 season..
Delmon has done great at every level he has played since 2004, though with some trouble in AAA, still put up great numbers all around here's a look at his stats from the minors..
2004 A- .320 25 homeruns, 115 RBI 21 SB 26 doubles in 513 at bats
2005 AA (before a callup to AAA) .336 20 homeruns, 71 RBI 25 SB in 330 at bats
2005 AAA- .285 6 homeruns 28 rbi's 7 SB in 228 at bats
2006 AAA- .316 8 homeruns 59 RBI 22 SB 22 doubles in 342 at bats before being called up to the majors
2006 MLB-.317 3 homeruns 10 rbi 2 stolen bases in 126 at bats
During Delmons 2006 season in AAA, Delmon threw a bat at an umpire, Delmon was suspended 50 games without pay.. yet still put up good numbers..
Hitting: Delmon has so much power, and also a good swing that allows him to hit for high average.. Though he needs to walk alittle more, and strike out alittle less
Speed: Delmon is very fast, and can steal bases.. Also his speed helps him play a great outfield.. His Speed, and hitting combined can make for some 30-30 years out of this young great player
Defense: Delmon has a great arm, and good range though his main problem is getting jumps on the ball.
